Meet Staff Sergeant Briana McClendon, a 2nd year nursing student in the second degree BSN program at Eastern Kentucky University, and the April featured Science Sista of the month! Briana is finishing her final semester of nursing school completing her clinical rounds working with critical care patients, and preparing to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX). In addition to being a committed scholar, Briana is currently serving active duty in the United States Air Force. Before joining the U.S. Air Force, she received her first degree in Kinesiology from the University of Kentucky. Upon graduation from nursing school, Briana intends to continue her service in the U.S. Air Force as a nurse anesthetist providing care to patients and demonstrating excellence in her community through her leadership. She has recently been assigned to further her nursing training in Texas before moving to her home base! She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
